About this tune

The later F60 JCW Countryman ALL4 makes ~302–306 bhp factory from the same B48 turbo four. Stage 1 is software-only; Stage 2 adds an intercooler, sports cat/decat and intake. The heaviest car here with ALL4 adds the most drivetrain loss, but crank figures are strong. 99 RON strongly recommended.

MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 tuning

A crossover with 306 bhp is an odd, brilliant thing, and the JCW Countryman ALL4 is exactly that — the most powerful MINI engine in the most practical MINI body. It gets bought as the fast family car that replaces two vehicles, and its owners tune it to widen that gap: same school run, considerably less patience required for the empty slip road.

Underneath sits the same 302–306 bhp, 450 Nm engine as the JCW Clubman, and it takes calibration just as well: Samuel's Stage 1 lifts the Countryman to 330 bhp and up to 470 Nm without opening the bonnet, keeping delivery smooth for the ALL4 system. With intercooler, sports cat or decat and intake in place, Stage 2 pushes on to 330–360 bhp and 470–520 Nm.

Beyond that, a bigger-turbo build carries this engine to about 420 bhp — the highest figure in Samuel's MINI catalogue, shared only with the Clubman ALL4. Practicality extends to the tuning itself: file built to your spec, dropped into BM3, MHD or MG Flasher within 24 hours, flashed in the time it takes to drink a coffee, undone just as easily whenever life demands it.

MINI JCW ALL4 tuning — B48 / B46 stages and hardware (F54 Clubman / F60 Countryman)

The later MINI JCW Clubman (F54) and Countryman (F60) ALL4 run the BMW B48 turbo four at ~302–306 bhp from the factory — the strongest-starting MINI four. The heavier body and ALL4 all-wheel drive add drivetrain loss versus the hatch, but the engine makes strong numbers at the crank and responds well to calibration. MINI JCW ALL4 tuning with Samuel focuses on a clean AWD launch and a broad, usable torque curve.

Stage 1

290–330 bhp · 420–470 Nm

ECU/DME software only on stock hardware via the OBD port. Calibrated for clean ALL4 launch and a broad torque curve. 99 RON strongly recommended.

Every MINI JCW ALL4 tune is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and hardware, and reviewed against your data logs before sign-off.

FAQ

JCW Countryman ALL4 tuning — frequently asked questions

Up to 330 bhp and 470 Nm from the standard 302–306 bhp and 450 Nm, achieved entirely in software. Because the Countryman is the heaviest car in the MINI line-up, that extra torque is felt constantly rather than occasionally — it stops the mass being part of the conversation.

Quoted figures are at the crank, and the ALL4 system's extra driveline drag means a wheel-figure dyno will read lower here than on a front-wheel-drive hatch making the same crank power. That is physics, not the tune — and on the road the all-wheel-drive traction means the Countryman frequently uses more of its output than the hatches can.

An uprated intercooler, a decat or sports cat and a performance intake, with cooler plugs recommended alongside. The reward is 330–360 bhp and 470–520 Nm on the factory turbo — torque that suits a heavy, tall car unusually well. List whatever is already fitted when you order and the calibration is built around it.

Arguably more so. Samuel's calibrations keep part-throttle behaviour, cold starts and cruising manners exactly as MINI intended — the extra output only appears when you ask for all of it. Day to day the tuned F60 drives like the standard car with deeper reserves, which is precisely what a fast family crossover should be.

99 RON is strongly recommended whenever the map runs aggressive figures — the top of the Stage 1 and Stage 2 ranges depends on it. The file is calibrated to the octane you specify, so if super unleaded is not consistently available where you live, tell Samuel and the tune is written to be safe on what you can get.
