About this tune
The F54 Clubman Cooper S shares its B48 turbo four with the hatch (badged B46 on US emissions cars). ALL4 AWD versions exist; figures are similar at the crank, with AWD adding drivetrain loss. Stage 1 is software-only; Stage 2 adds an intercooler, sports cat/decat and intake. The low-compression Cooper S needs forged internals before JCW-level power is safe. 99 RON strongly recommended.
MINI Cooper S Clubman tuning
The Clubman is the MINI that grew up: a proper estate profile, split barn doors at the back and a cabin that swallows real luggage. Owners run F54s as only cars, doing motorway miles and family duty, and they tune them for the same reason estate drivers have always tuned — effortless, always-there torque rather than headline horsepower. It was built from 2015 to 2024 in front-wheel-drive and ALL4 forms.
As standard the Cooper S Clubman produces 189–192 bhp and 280 Nm, figures the long body can feel slightly ahead of. Samuel's Stage 1 recalibration answers that with 245–260 bhp and 360–400 Nm from pure software, and the loaded-up mid-range shove is where the Clubman benefits most. Adding intercooler, sports cat or decat and intake for Stage 2 brings 270–285 bhp and 420–460 Nm.
Should you want a genuinely rapid estate, the chassis will take a forged-bottom-end, bigger-turbo build to around 400 bhp — discussed and quoted individually. Delivery fits around the car's working life: Samuel sends the file to your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account within 24 hours, you flash on your own schedule, and the untouched stock calibration travels with the car for as long as you own it.

MINI Cooper S tuning — B48 / B46 stages, hardware and what to expect (F54 / F55 / F56 / F57 / F60)
The MINI Cooper S runs the BMW B48 2.0-litre turbocharged four — the same engine as the BMW 320i / 330i, badged B46 on US emissions cars. Across the range (F56 3-door, F55 5-door, F57 Convertible, F54 Clubman, F60 Countryman) it leaves the factory around 189–192 bhp, with meaningful headroom left in the calibration for warranty and global fuel variation. MINI Cooper S tuning with Samuel starts by finding exactly where that headroom sits on your specific car and fuel, then building a map that extracts it reliably. One reliability point shapes every Cooper S build: the low-compression Cooper S piston is weaker than the JCW's, so the safe road to big power runs through forged internals before JCW-plus figures.
Stage 1
245–260 bhp · 360–400 Nm
ECU/DME software only, flashed via the OBD port on stock hardware. Sharper throttle, a much broader torque curve and the response the Cooper S should have shipped with. The most cost-effective single change on the platform. 99 RON strongly recommended for the full figure.
Every MINI Cooper S tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, and reviewed against your data logs before sign-off — never a base map loaded and left.
Compatibility
Platform and hardware compatibility

Bootmod3 (BM3)
Full support for the B48 / B46 MINI range (Cooper S and JCW across F54, F55, F56, F57, F60). OBD-port flashing on the MEVD17 / MG1CS003 DME, realtime monitoring via the BM3 app. The most widely used platform for MINI B48 tuning.

MHD
B48 support suitable for Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the MINI range. Strong data-logging toolset for verifying lambda, ignition correction and intake temperatures after each flash — especially useful for keeping the low-compression Cooper S safe.

MG Flasher
Full B48 / MINI support on the MG1CS003 DME. Clean interface and a reliable flash process, a common choice for owners who prefer the MG ecosystem.

xHP Flashtool
For MINIs fitted with the Aisin/ZF automatic. Recommended at Stage 2 where torque climbs, to handle the extra load cleanly. Manual cars do not need xHP.

ECU: MEVD17 / MG1CS003 DME across MINI B48 production (B46 = US emissions-equivalent code, same engine). Accessible via the OBD port — no bench flash required for Stage 1 or Stage 2.

FAQ
Cooper S Clubman tuning — frequently asked questions
The crank targets are identical, and the map is written knowing which drivetrain the car has. ALL4 costs a little more through drivetrain loss at the wheels, but it repays you in how cleanly the tuned torque reaches the road — a Stage 1 ALL4 Clubman launches without the front-axle scramble a powerful front-wheel-drive car can show.
245–260 bhp and 360–400 Nm, up from a factory 189–192 bhp and 280 Nm, with nothing bolted on. For a car this shape the torque matters more than the peak — four-up with the boot full, the tuned Clubman simply stops noticing the load.
Three supporting parts: an uprated intercooler, a decat or sports cat, and a performance intake, with cooler plugs recommended. That combination keeps charge temperatures under control and lets the standard turbo hold 270–285 bhp and 420–460 Nm reliably. Send Samuel your parts list and the calibration is matched to it exactly.
Around 400 bhp is the realistic ceiling for this platform, but it is a build rather than a flash — the Cooper S pistons are the weak point beyond Stage 2, so forged internals and a larger or hybrid turbo come first. Samuel consults on the full spec over WhatsApp before anything is quoted.
If a dealer can tie a specific failure to the software, a warranty claim can be refused, so treat it as a considered decision. In practice Samuel calibrates well inside the B48's hardware limits, and because the Clubman can be returned to its stock file before any service visit, plenty of owners run tuned throughout ownership.
