MINI John Cooper Works 3-door Hatch tuning
Samuel starts with the F56 JCW's MEVD17 / MG1CS003 DME — its specific calibration, the fuel grade you're running, and the hardware list you submit. Stage 1 goes in over OBD: 228–231 bhp · 320 Nm to 270–290 bhp · 380–420 Nm without any hardware changes. 99 RON strongly recommended. Stage 2 is calibrated around the intercooler, decat/sports cat and intake you've fitted, targeting 290–310 bhp · 440–470 Nm; Stage 3 is bespoke, built around the hybrid or big-turbo spec you submit.

About this tune
The F56 JCW runs the B48 turbo four but leaves the factory in a stronger state of tune than the Cooper S — 228–231 bhp · 320 Nm from the standard setup. JCW pistons are also stronger than the low-compression Cooper S units, so the platform carries Stage 2 figures more comfortably. What the JCW 3-door map revision covers: B48 / B46 stages explained
The MEVD17 / MG1CS003 DME in the F56 JCW controls boost pressure, torque limits, and throttle response — and the factory calibration leaves headroom in all three. Stage 1 revises each of those targets: 228–231 bhp · 320 Nm to 270–290 bhp · 380–420 Nm on the OEM hardware, nothing physically changed. Stage 2 recalibrates around the expanded airflow and cooling from the intercooler, decat/sports cat and intake, targeting 290–310 bhp · 440–470 Nm; every JCW 3-door map is log-reviewed after the first flash before sign-off.

Yes. The original B48 / B46 (US) stock file is supplied before you flash, so the car returns to factory calibration whenever you need it.
A factory warranty can be voided if BMW attributes a specific failure to the tune, so it's a personal call. Samuel's JCW 3-door maps are calibrated within the mechanical limits of the B48 / B46 (US) hardware, and because the tune is reversible to stock before any dealer visit, many owners run a tuned F56 without issue.
BM3 is the most widely used for the MINI B48 family — best if you want realtime monitoring via the BM3 app. MHD has a strong data-logging toolset and works well from Stage 1 through Stage 2 on the F56. MG Flasher gives full B48 support on the MG1CS003 DME and suits owners already in that ecosystem.
