About this tune

The later F54 JCW Clubman ALL4 makes ~302–306 bhp factory from the same B48 turbo four. Stage 1 is software-only; Stage 2 adds an intercooler, sports cat/decat and intake. The heavier ALL4 body adds drivetrain loss, but the engine makes strong numbers at the crank. 99 RON strongly recommended.

MINI John Cooper Works Clubman ALL4 tuning

Nothing else in the MINI range starts from where the JCW Clubman ALL4 does — 302 to 306 bhp from the factory, all-wheel drive and an estate body with barn doors. It is the MINI for people who found the hatch too small and everything else too dull, and it arrives at Samuel's door already the strongest four-cylinder the brand sells.

That factory 302–306 bhp and 450 Nm responds keenly to calibration: Stage 1 takes the ALL4 Clubman to as much as 330 bhp and 470 Nm on software alone, with delivery mapped for clean all-wheel-drive launches. Stage 2, supported by an intercooler, sports cat or decat and intake, targets 330–360 bhp and a substantial 470–520 Nm.

This engine also carries the highest ceiling of any MINI Samuel tunes — around 420 bhp with a larger turbo and fuelling to match. The process never changes with the ambition: a hand-built file through BM3, MHD or MG Flasher, delivered within 24 hours, with your stock calibration held safe so the Clubman can be returned to standard at any point.

FAQ

JCW Clubman ALL4 tuning — frequently asked questions

Yes, and torque is the reason. Peak power climbs to as much as 330 bhp, but the bigger change is 470 Nm arriving earlier and staying longer, which the ALL4 drivetrain converts straight into acceleration. The factory tune leaves genuine margin in this engine, and a hand calibration spends it properly.

Traction, which on the front-wheel-drive MINIs is the practical limit. The JCW Clubman's all-wheel drive lets Samuel calibrate strong torque low in the rev range without the front axle washing out, so the tuned car launches cleanly in conditions that would defeat a similarly powerful hatch. More of the number on the spec sheet reaches the tarmac.

The supporting trio — uprated intercooler, decat or sports cat, and intake, with cooler plugs sensible — and it returns 330–360 bhp with 470–520 Nm. That torque figure is the headline: it is deep into serious performance-estate territory while the standard turbo and fuelling stay within their working range.

The later JCW ALL4 engine is the strongest B48 MINI ships, and its supporting hardware starts from a higher baseline, so with a larger or hybrid turbo and proper fuelling it stretches to roughly 420 bhp — beyond the 400 or so the other bodies top out at. Forged internals are still advised for the upper figures, and every big build is scoped individually.

Configure your stage on this page and send the build through — include gearbox, fuel and any modifications. Samuel writes the calibration by hand and releases it to your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account within 24 hours; you flash via OBD at home. Nothing is permanent: the stock file is retained from day one.
