BMW M8 (F91 / F92 / F93) tuning
As the flagship of the M range, the M8 arrived with nothing above it: coupe, convertible and Gran Coupe bodies (F91, F92, F93) built from 2019 onwards, all running M xDrive. Owners who tune an M8 usually are not chasing a faster commute; they want the flagship to feel like one, with the reserve of a properly liberated S63 under the long bonnet.
BMW rates the M8 Competition at 617 bhp and 750 Nm. Samuel's calibration work moves that to 680 bhp and 850 Nm at Stage 1, hardware untouched, and to 750 bhp and 900 Nm at Stage 2 once downpipes and intakes are on the car. Every M8 file is written against that specific chassis and its parts list, so a Gran Coupe on different fuel gets a different map.
Beyond the bolt-on stages, hybrid and big-turbo conversions take the M8's V8 into four-figure territory, up to roughly 1,000 bhp with the fuelling to match. Nothing about the process requires a workshop visit: choose the stage, send Samuel your build, and the file reaches your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account inside 24 hours with the stock calibration retained. The M8's pair of locked DMEs takes a one-time unlock first.

BMW M8 (F92) tuning, stages, hardware and what to expect from the second-gen S63
The F91 / F92 / F93 M8 runs the second-generation S63, same revised 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 as the F90 M5, with the full Competition spec from the factory. Stock figures: 617 bhp / 750 Nm. BMW M8 F92 tuning with Samuel takes the M8 into the same Stage 1 / Stage 2 territory as the F90 M5 with which it shares its engine, DME and gearbox. BMW M8 Coupe tuning (F92), M8 Convertible tuning (F91) and M8 Gran Coupe tuning (F93) all use the same map.
Stage 1
680 bhp · 850 Nm
No hardware required. The MG1CS003 DME is flashed via the OBD port, boost pressure, ignition timing, fuel delivery and torque limiters all revised. BMW M8 F92 Stage 1 unlocks 680 bhp / 850 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 617 / 750 stock). The single most cost-effective change available on the F92 M8, and the BMW M8 chip tuning starting point for nearly every owner.
Every M8 tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. BMW M8 tuning done correctly accounts for the F91/F92/F93 chassis behaviour, the 8HP gearbox calibration and UK fuel quality; the map is reviewed against your data logs after the first flash and revised before sign-off.
Compatibility
Platform and hardware compatibility

Bootmod3 (BM3)
Full S63 support across every chassis in the family (M5 F10, M5 F90, M6 F1x, M8, X5 M, X6 M). MEVD17 and MG1 DME OBD flashing, realtime monitoring via the BM3 app. The most widely used platform for S63 tuning.

FAQ
M8 (F92) tuning — frequently asked questions
The engine package is: F91, F92 and F93 all use the same second-generation S63 and DME setup, so every stage on this page applies to all three. Each customer's file is still produced individually, because fuel, region and fitted hardware differ from car to car even within one body style.
Two things: downpipes and upgraded intakes. With those fitted the standard turbos support 750 bhp and 900 Nm, up from the Stage 1 figure of 680 bhp and 850 Nm. Everything else, turbochargers, intercooling and fuelling, remains factory at this level, and Samuel confirms the exact setup with you before writing the file.
On the right hardware, yes. The second-generation S63 supports 1,000-plus bhp with hybrid or full-frame turbos and supporting fuelling behind them. That figure is spec-dependent rather than guaranteed, which is why big builds are calibrated bespoke: send the complete parts list and Samuel maps the M8 around exactly what is fitted.
Not special, but the best you can reliably get. The headline stage figures assume high-octane super unleaded, and the map is calibrated to the fuel you tell Samuel you use. Consistently running a different grade than the file expects is the one thing to avoid, so be accurate when ordering.
Less than most expect. Your calibrated file appears in your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account within 24 hours of Samuel receiving your build details, and flashing it is a guided, on-screen process through the OBD port. The stock M8 calibration stays saved throughout, so there is always a way back.
