BMW M6 (F06 / F12 / F13) tuning
Where the F10 saloon played the executive card, the F1x M6 wore the same mechanicals as a grand tourer, offered as a two-door, a convertible and the four-door Gran Coupe between 2011 and 2018. Owners tune the M6 less to chase numbers and more to wake the car up: the S63 in this installation was deliberately understressed, and the long-legged GT character suits a fatter torque curve perfectly.
Standard output is 552 bhp and 680 Nm across all three bodies. A Stage 1 remap from Samuel raises the M6 to 650 bhp with 850 Nm purely through calibration, while bolting on downpipes and intakes opens up Stage 2 at 720 bhp and 900 Nm through the seven-speed DCT. Nothing is generic; the map reflects the exact car, its hardware list and the fuel it runs.
For owners going further, hybrid or big-turbo conversions push the M6 towards the S63's 1,000 bhp ceiling, calibrated bespoke around the parts list. Delivery never requires shipping the car anywhere: files land in your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account within a day, and the original calibration is kept so the car can go back to standard whenever you choose. Budget for the one-off unlock of the car's paired DMEs before the first write.

BMW M6 F1x tuning, stages, hardware and what to expect from the S63 V8
The F12 / F13 / F06 M6 runs the same first-generation S63 V8 as the F10 M5, 4.4-litre twin-turbo, twin-scroll, direct injection. From the factory, BMW M calibrated the M6 at 552 bhp / 680 Nm (Competition 567 / 680). BMW M6 F1x tuning with Samuel exploits the same OEM headroom the F10 M5 carries, the engine and DME are identical between the platforms. BMW M6 Coupe tuning, M6 Convertible tuning and M6 Gran Coupe tuning all use the same map.
Stage 1
650 bhp · 850 Nm
No hardware required. The MEVD17.2.G DME is flashed via the OBD port, boost, ignition timing, fuel delivery and torque limiters all revised. BMW M6 F1x Stage 1 unlocks 650 bhp / 850 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 552-567 / 680 stock). The single most cost-effective change available on the F1x M6 platform.
Every M6 F1x tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. BMW M6 F1x tuning done correctly accounts for the body variant (Coupe / Convertible / Gran Coupe), the M-DCT gearbox calibration and UK fuel quality; the map is reviewed against your data logs after the first flash and revised before sign-off.
Compatibility
Platform and hardware compatibility

Bootmod3 (BM3)
Full S63 support across every chassis in the family (M5 F10, M5 F90, M6 F1x, M8, X5 M, X6 M). MEVD17 and MG1 DME OBD flashing, realtime monitoring via the BM3 app. The most widely used platform for S63 tuning.

MHD
Full S63 support across the M5 F10 / F90, M6, M8 and X5 M / X6 M platforms. Suitable for Stage 1 and Stage 2. Strong data-logging toolset for verifying air/fuel, ignition and oil temperature on a sustained pull.

xHP Flashtool
Compatible with the ZF 8HP gearbox fitted to every S63 chassis. Strongly recommended at Stage 2 where torque jumps to 900 Nm, the OEM shift logic isn't calibrated for that delivery. Available as an add-on.

FAQ
M6 (F1x) tuning — frequently asked questions
They do. All three F1x bodies, F06, F12 and F13, carry an identical S63 installation, so the stage structure and pricing are shared across the range. What is not shared is the file itself: each M6 map is written for that one car, reflecting its hardware, its fuel and anything already modified.
Stage 1 needs nothing fitted, so most owners start there, taking the standard car to 650 bhp and 850 Nm. If you plan to run downpipes and intakes, fit them first and order Stage 2, which calibrates around them for 720 bhp and 900 Nm. Tell Samuel what is on the car either way, and the file will match it.
A long way. Hybrid turbochargers take the M6 into the 800 to 1,000-plus bhp range depending on specification, and full-frame big-turbo kits with supporting fuelling reach the platform's roughly 1,000 bhp ceiling. These are bespoke calibrations: you submit the complete parts list and the map is built around it, not around an assumed setup.
Like every S63 car, the M6 carries two engine control units and both must be unlocked before a first flash, a one-time procedure per ECU. Once completed the car accepts maps over OBD indefinitely, so later stage upgrades or a return to the factory calibration need no further unlocking.
You never bring the car anywhere. Order the package, share your build details, and Samuel writes the calibration and delivers it to your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account within 24 hours. You flash it through the OBD port yourself, keeping the original file on hand so the M6 can revert to standard whenever you want.
