About this tune
The F82 M4 GTS (2016) is BMW M's most extreme F-platform car, a stripped, roll-caged, lightweight F82 M4 with factory water/methanol injection (WMI) cooling the intake charge enough to run 493 bhp / 600 Nm from the S55 at factory. Coupe only, M-DCT only, limited production. The WMI hardware is fitted from new, and remains in place through Stage 1 / Stage 2 tuning, giving the GTS a uniquely capable platform for aggressive ignition timing on the stock turbos.
BMW M4 GTS tuning
The BMW M4 GTS (F82, 2014–2020) runs the S55 and leaves the factory at 493 bhp · 600 Nm (water injection), Rear-wheel drive, 7-speed DCT. Samuel tunes the F82 Coupe to the same standard — every map hand-calibrated for the specific car, its fuel grade and its installed hardware, not a base file loaded and left. M4 GTS Stage 1 alone takes it from 493 bhp · 600 Nm (water injection) to 520 bhp · 700 Nm on the standard turbo, flashed over OBD on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher.
Add the Stage 2 hardware and the M4 GTS targets 560 bhp · 750 Nm; from there the S55 stretches to around 1200 bhp on a hybrid or big-turbo build with supporting fuelling. Whichever stage suits the M4 GTS, the file is delivered within 24 hours and is fully reversible to the supplied stock calibration.

BMW M4 GTS tuning, stages, hardware and what to expect from the F82 S55 (water injection)
The F82 M4 GTS (2016) is BMW's most extreme F-platform M car, a stripped, caged, lightweight F82 with the S55 paired to factory water/methanol injection (WMI). BMW set the M4 GTS at 493 bhp / 600 Nm from the factory, made possible specifically by the WMI hardware cooling the intake charge enough to run more aggressive boost and timing. BMW M4 GTS tuning with Samuel takes advantage of the same WMI hardware to push further still, the platform is uniquely suited to aggressive Stage 1 and Stage 2 maps because the cooling effect of the water injection is already built into the calibration. Tuning the GTS is one of the most interesting S55 projects on the platform.
Stage 1
520 bhp · 700 Nm
No hardware required, the factory WMI system stays in place. The MEVD17 DME is flashed via the OBD port. BMW M4 GTS Stage 1 unlocks 520 bhp and 700 Nm from the OEM hardware (the gain over the 493 bhp stock is smaller than on the standard M4 because BMW already pushed the GTS hard at factory; the headroom released here is in throttle response, mid-range torque and rev-range linearity rather than peak number).
Every M4 GTS tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. BMW M4 GTS tuning done correctly accounts for the WMI hardware integration, the M-DCT calibration, the S55's rod-bearing condition and UK fuel quality; the map is reviewed against your data logs after the first flash and revised before sign-off.

M4 GTS Stage 1 lifts the S55 from a stock 493 bhp · 600 Nm (water injection) to 520 bhp · 700 Nm, with no hardware required. The map is flashed through the OBD port on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher and is the starting point for almost every M4 GTS owner — broader torque and sharper throttle response from the factory hardware.
This page covers the F82 Coupe (F82). They share the S55 engine and run the same core calibration, but every M4 GTS tune Samuel delivers is tailored to your exact car, fuel grade and installed hardware — never a base map loaded and left.
Stage 2 on the M4 GTS targets 560 bhp · 750 Nm and needs downpipes + midpipe + intakes. Everything else — turbo, fuel system, intercooler — holds within the Stage 2 figures on the S55.
On the right hardware spec the S55 in the M4 GTS reaches around 1200 bhp. Stage 1 and Stage 2 run the standard turbo; beyond that needs a hybrid or full big-turbo conversion with supporting fuelling, and the calibration is built bespoke per car.
Remotely. Once Samuel has your build details, the calibrated M4 GTS map is delivered to your flashing tool account (BM3, MHD or MG Flasher) within 24 hours and you flash it yourself over OBD in about 15 minutes. It's fully reversible — the original S55 stock file is supplied before you flash, so the car can return to factory at any time.
A factory warranty can be voided if BMW shows a tune caused a specific failure, so it's a personal call. Samuel's M4 GTS maps are calibrated to stay within the mechanical limits of the S55 hardware, and because the tune is reversible to stock before any dealer visit, many owners run a tuned M4 GTS without issue.
