About this tune

The F82 M4 CS (2017-2018) is the lightweight, more aggressive derivative of the F82 M4 Competition, same S55 twin-scroll twin-turbo straight-six, with a sharper factory map (460 bhp / 600 Nm vs 425 / 550 on the standard M4). Coupe only, RWD only, M-DCT only. The CS treatment includes lighter wheels, a stiffer chassis setup, and a more aggressive factory throttle calibration, and it tunes identically to every other S55 car from a hardware ceiling standpoint.

BMW M4 CS tuning

The BMW M4 CS (F82, 2014–2020) runs the S55 and leaves the factory at 460 bhp · 600 Nm, Rear-wheel drive, 7-speed DCT. Samuel tunes the F82 Coupe to the same standard — every map hand-calibrated for the specific car, its fuel grade and its installed hardware, not a base file loaded and left. M4 CS Stage 1 alone takes it from 460 bhp · 600 Nm to 520 bhp · 700 Nm on the standard turbo, flashed over OBD on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher.

Add the Stage 2 hardware and the M4 CS targets 560 bhp · 750 Nm; from there the S55 stretches to around 1200 bhp on a hybrid or big-turbo build with supporting fuelling. Whichever stage suits the M4 CS, the file is delivered within 24 hours and is fully reversible to the supplied stock calibration.

BMW M4 CS tuning, stages, hardware and what to expect from the F82 S55

The F82 M4 CS (2017-2018) is the more aggressive, lightweight derivative of the F82 M4 Competition, same S55 twin-scroll twin-turbo straight-six, with a slightly sharper factory map (460 bhp / 600 Nm vs 425 / 550 on the standard M4). BMW M4 CS tuning with Samuel applies the same S55 Stage 1 / Stage 2 / Stage 2 Flex map family used on the F80 M3 and F82 M4, the underlying hardware is identical, and the CS's higher factory baseline doesn't change the Stage 1 / Stage 2 ceiling, which is set by the turbo and fuelling hardware. Owners who buy a CS specifically for the sharper character get exactly that sharper character at every stage of the tune.

520 bhp · 700 Nm

No hardware required. The MEVD17 DME is flashed via the OBD port. BMW M4 CS Stage 1 unlocks 520 bhp and 700 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 460 / 600 stock). The BMW M4 CS chip tuning starting point, the most cost-effective change available on the CS, and the most popular first modification owners make.

Every M4 CS tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. BMW M4 CS tuning done correctly accounts for the CS chassis behaviour, the M-DCT calibration, the S55's rod-bearing condition and UK fuel quality; the map is reviewed against your data logs after the first flash and revised before sign-off.

M4 CS Stage 1 lifts the S55 from a stock 460 bhp · 600 Nm to 520 bhp · 700 Nm, with no hardware required. The map is flashed through the OBD port on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher and is the starting point for almost every M4 CS owner — broader torque and sharper throttle response from the factory hardware.

This page covers the F82 Coupe (F82). They share the S55 engine and run the same core calibration, but every M4 CS tune Samuel delivers is tailored to your exact car, fuel grade and installed hardware — never a base map loaded and left.

Stage 2 on the M4 CS targets 560 bhp · 750 Nm and needs downpipes + midpipe + intakes. Everything else — turbo, fuel system, intercooler — holds within the Stage 2 figures on the S55.

On the right hardware spec the S55 in the M4 CS reaches around 1200 bhp. Stage 1 and Stage 2 run the standard turbo; beyond that needs a hybrid or full big-turbo conversion with supporting fuelling, and the calibration is built bespoke per car.

Remotely. Once Samuel has your build details, the calibrated M4 CS map is delivered to your flashing tool account (BM3, MHD or MG Flasher) within 24 hours and you flash it yourself over OBD in about 15 minutes. It's fully reversible — the original S55 stock file is supplied before you flash, so the car can return to factory at any time.

A factory warranty can be voided if BMW shows a tune caused a specific failure, so it's a personal call. Samuel's M4 CS maps are calibrated to stay within the mechanical limits of the S55 hardware, and because the tune is reversible to stock before any dealer visit, many owners run a tuned M4 CS without issue.
