About this tune
The F82 M4 CS (2017-2018) is the lightweight, more aggressive derivative of the F82 M4 Competition, same S55 twin-scroll twin-turbo straight-six, with a sharper factory map (460 bhp / 600 Nm vs 425 / 550 on the standard M4). Coupe only, RWD only, M-DCT only. The CS treatment includes lighter wheels, a stiffer chassis setup, and a more aggressive factory throttle calibration, and it tunes identically to every other S55 car from a hardware ceiling standpoint.
BMW M4 CS tuning
The S55 twin-scroll twin-turbo straight-six in the F82 M4 CS is identical in hardware to the standard F82 M4 — same block, same turbos, same MEVD17 DME. BMW shipped the CS with a more aggressive factory calibration: 460 bhp / 600 Nm versus 425 / 550 on the standard M4. Stage 1 closes that gap to the hardware ceiling: 520 bhp / 700 Nm from the OEM hardware, flashed over OBD. Stage 2 adds downpipes, midpipe and intakes to reach 560 bhp / 750 Nm. Add the Flex Fuel option at Stage 2 for up to 600 bhp on E40 blends. Stage 3 is bespoke around whatever hybrid or big-turbo spec you submit. Every file hand-calibrated for the specific car — not a base map applied to the CS model.
The F82 M4 CS (2017–2018) is the limited-production, lightweight CS derivative of the F82 M4 Competition — same S55 powertrain, sharper factory map, stiffer chassis, reduced weight. Coupe only, rear-wheel drive only, 7-speed M-DCT only. Limited production makes it the rarer of the two F82 M4 variants; the hardware ceiling is the same as the standard F82. What the M4 CS map revision covers: S55 stages explained
The numbers gap from factory to hardware ceiling is smaller on the M4 CS than on the standard M4 because BMW already pushed the S55 further at the factory. Stage 1 still adds 60 bhp / 100 Nm from the OEM hardware: 520 bhp / 700 Nm from 460 / 600 stock. Stage 2 adds downpipes, midpipe and intakes to reach 560 bhp / 750 Nm — the same ceiling as the standard M4 Stage 2, because the hardware is identical. At Stage 2 with Flex Fuel the M4 CS reaches up to 600 bhp on E40 blends. Stage 3 is bespoke around the hybrid or big-turbo spec you submit. Every map is log-reviewed after the first flash before sign-off.

No hardware required. The MEVD17 DME is flashed via the OBD port. BMW M4 CS Stage 1 unlocks 520 bhp and 700 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 460 / 600 stock). The BMW M4 CS chip tuning starting point, the most cost-effective change available on the CS, and the most popular first modification owners make.
