Pick of the 4 Series range for most drivers, the 430i pairs the two-door G22 body — or the G23 convertible and G26 Gran Coupé — with the higher-output B48, and it is the model owners tune when they want the coupé to drive the way it looks. Samuel's job here is less about waking a sleepy car up and more about sharpening an already capable one.
The 430i's factory 255 bhp and 420 Nm becomes 310 bhp and 520 Nm at Stage 1, with no parts required and the refinement of the standard car preserved. Stage 2, built around a downpipe and intake, carries the calibration to 340 bhp and 550 Nm on the stock turbo — strong enough that the four-cylinder badge stops feeling like a compromise.
The B48's upper end sits near 500 bhp for the 430i, reached through hybrid or full-frame turbo hardware with fuelling to match, each calibration written around the specific build. Samuel works entirely remotely: the finished file reaches your flashing platform of choice — BM3, MHD or MG Flasher — within 24 hours, and the factory calibration is kept on hand for a clean return to stock.

BMW 430i tuning, stages, hardware and what to expect from the G22 B48
The G22 430i runs the higher-output B48, same engine hardware as the 420i, with BMW's standard 255 bhp / 420 Nm software calibration and the full injector spec. BMW 430i tuning with Samuel targets the stock turbo's real capability, which sits comfortably above the factory figure. BMW 430i G22 Coupe tuning, G23 Convertible tuning and G26 Gran Coupe tuning all use the same map; only the build sheet differs slightly for the cabrio exhaust geometry.

No hardware required. The MG1CS003 / MEVD17 DME is flashed via the OBD port, boost pressure, ignition timing, fuel delivery and torque limiters all revised. BMW 430i Stage 1 unlocks 310 bhp / 520 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 255 / 420 stock). The BMW 430i chip tuning starting point for nearly every owner who modifies the platform.
Every 430i tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. BMW 430i tuning done correctly accounts for the G22 chassis behaviour, the 8HP gearbox calibration and UK fuel quality; the map is reviewed against your data logs after the first flash and revised before sign-off.

430i tuning — frequently asked questions
From the standard 255 bhp and 420 Nm, Stage 1 calibrates the 430i to 310 bhp and 520 Nm on unmodified hardware. Just as important as the peak numbers is where they arrive — the tuned map fills the mid-range, so the coupé feels stronger in every gear rather than only at full throttle.
Mechanically they are twins — same engine, same gearbox, same figures at each stage — so the difference lives in the individual car, not the badge. Every 430i file Samuel delivers is calibrated for that specific vehicle, its fuel and its fitted parts, whether it is a G22 coupé, G23 convertible or G26 Gran Coupé.
A downpipe and an intake, nothing more. With the exhaust side freed up and the turbo fed properly, the Stage 2 calibration targets 340 bhp and 550 Nm from the standard hardware. Samuel confirms the exact parts against your build before writing the file, so there are no surprises at flashing time.
The 430i uses the ZF eight-speed automatic found across the BMW range, including behind considerably torquier engines. Samuel shapes the torque delivery with the transmission in mind, and no gearbox hardware changes are required at Stage 1 or Stage 2 — the requirement lists for both stages cover the engine side only.
Beyond Stage 2 the route is a hybrid turbo or a full-frame conversion with downpipe, intake and supporting fuelling, calibrated bespoke to around 500 bhp at the top of the platform.
