BM3, MHD and MG Flasher all support the 335i's MEVD17.2 DME fully through Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 2+ — the platform choice is about your preferred tool, not the calibration. About this tune
The F30 Saloon and F31 Touring (2012–2019) share the N55 inline-six in the same basic spec, rear-wheel drive through the ZF 8HP. Samuel tunes both body variants to the same standard. Every 335i map is built individually for the specific car and its fuel grade — not a base file loaded and left.

N55 in the 335i F30: why it responds to tuning
BMW set the F30 335i at 302 bhp / 400 Nm from the factory; the N55 underneath is the same hardware as the M135i and M235i. The difference between the 335i and the M-performance N55 cars is software. Stage 1 closes most of that gap — 380 bhp · 500 Nm from the OEM turbo, no hardware required — and Stage 2 pushes past it once the airflow and fuelling upgrades are in place.

No hardware required. The MEVD17 DME is flashed via the OBD port. BMW 335i Stage 1 unlocks 380 bhp and 500 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 302 / 400 stock, one of the largest stock-hardware Stage 1 gains in the BMW range). The BMW 335i chip tuning starting point and the single most popular modification on the F30 / F31 N55 platform.
Every 335i tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. 335i Stage 1 lifts the N55 from 302 bhp · 400 Nm to 380 bhp · 500 Nm without any hardware required. OBD flash on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher — one of the largest stock-hardware Stage 1 gains in the BMW range for the asking price.
This page covers the F30 Saloon and F31 Touring (2012–2019). Both run the N55 3.0L inline-six and share the same core calibration — every tune is tailored per car to your fuel grade and hardware, never a base file.
Stage 2 targets 420 bhp · 550 Nm and requires a downpipe, intake or panel filter, and intercooler. The standard N55 turbo, fuel system and gearbox all hold within Stage 2 figures on that hardware list.
Stage 2+ adds the B58 TU fuel pump to the Stage 2 hardware list and targets 440 bhp · 600 Nm — the stock turbo's practical ceiling. Beyond that, the N55 needs a hybrid or full big-turbo conversion with supporting fuelling; that calibration is bespoke per build and can reach around 800 bhp on the right hardware spec.
The F30 335i runs the ZF 8HP; xHP gearbox calibration matches the shift logic and torque limits to the ECU map. Strongly recommended at Stage 2 and above where the torque increase is significant. At Stage 1 it's optional. Available as an add-on on this page.
