Once the plan is agreed, get your genuine bootmod3 licence sorted for your VIN and the correct adapter for your model.

Flash the base map with the bootmod3 app, then send datalogs. Samuel reads boost, timing, fuel and knock to see how your car responds.

Do I need a bootmod3 licence and adapter?

Yes. Bootmod3 needs a genuine licence tied to your VIN and either the bootmod3 WiFi adapter or a quality BMW ENET cable to flash. You can add the licence in the configurator, and we will confirm the right adapter for your exact model when you enquire.

Which BMWs can you tune on bootmod3?

The turbocharged petrol range, including B58, S58, N55, S55, S63 and B48 engines, across F and G-series models. Pick your car in the configurator to see the stages and options available for it.

How long does a custom tune take?

Samuel typically quotes within hours and turns the first map around within 24 hours of confirmation. Custom calibration then runs over a few datalog revisions until the map is dialled in for your car.

Can I run ethanol or flex fuel?

Yes. Ethanol and flex fuel are supported on the engines that take them, and you can add an ethanol map slot or a flex fuel setup in the configurator. Samuel will advise on the right hardware for your build.

Is a custom tune better than an off-the-shelf map?

An off-the-shelf map is a safe, generic starting point. A custom tune is calibrated to your specific car and corrects for your fuel, hardware and conditions, which is where the real, repeatable gains and the cleanest running come from.
