About this tune
The F30 / F31 340i (2015-2019) is the executive saloon and Touring variant of the B58 Gen 1, same engine block, turbo and 8HP gearbox as the M140i and M240i, with a more conservative factory calibration (326 bhp / 450 Nm vs 335 / 500 on the M-Performance cars). The detune is purely software, which is why Stage 1 on the 340i targets the same 420 bhp / 600 Nm figure as the rest of the B58 Gen 1 family. Available as the F30 saloon and F31 Touring.
BMW 340i tuning
The BMW 340i (F30 / F31, 2012–2019) leaves the factory at 326 bhp · 450 Nm. Stage 1 moves that to 420 bhp · 600 Nm without touching any hardware — Samuel maps the MG1CS003 / MEVD17 DME via OBD on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher, every file calibrated to the specific car and its fuel grade. Stage 2 targets 450 bhp · 650 Nm with downpipe and intake; Stage 2+ reaches 480 bhp · 680 Nm with the B58 TU fuel pump added. From there the B58 Gen 1 runs to around 1000 bhp on a hybrid or big-turbo build. Every map is delivered to your flashing tool account within 24 hours of payment.
The F30 / F31 340i runs the B58 Gen 1 in saloon and Touring form — the same engine block and turbo as the M140i and M240i, factory-calibrated to 326 bhp / 450 Nm against the M-Performance cars' 335 / 500. That gap is software only, not hardware. Stage 1 on the 340i targets the same 420 bhp / 600 Nm ceiling as the rest of the B58 Gen 1 family because the hardware underneath is identical. The F30 and F31 run the same core calibration; build sheet differences for the Touring exhaust geometry are accounted for per car.

BMW 340i tuning, stages, hardware and what to expect from the F30 B58 Gen 1
The 340i runs the B58 Gen 1 in F30 saloon and F31 Touring form, the same engine block and turbo as the M140i, M240i and 440i. BMW set the F30 340i's factory calibration at 326 bhp / 450 Nm, a more conservative software limiter than the M140i and M240i. The hardware is identical, which is why BMW 340i tuning with Samuel targets the same Stage 1 figure as the rest of the family. BMW 340i F30 tuning and BMW 340i F31 tuning use the same map; only the build sheet differs slightly for the Touring exhaust geometry.

No hardware required. The MG1CS003 / MEVD17 DME is flashed via the OBD port, boost, ignition timing, fuel delivery and torque limiters all revised. BMW 340i Stage 1 unlocks 420 bhp / 600 Nm from the OEM hardware (up from 326 / 450 stock), making it one of the largest stock-hardware Stage 1 gains in the BMW range because BMW's factory limiter on the 340i is so conservative. The BMW 340i chip tuning starting point for almost every owner.
Every 340i tune Samuel produces is calibrated individually for the specific car, fuel grade and installed hardware, not a base map loaded and left. 340i tuning — frequently asked questions
340i Stage 1 moves the B58 Gen 1 from 326 bhp · 450 Nm stock to 420 bhp · 600 Nm — no hardware required. The map is flashed via OBD on BM3, MHD or MG Flasher, and you'll notice broader torque through the mid-range and sharper throttle response from the same turbo and fuel system you already have.
Stage 2 targets 450 bhp · 650 Nm and requires a downpipe (OPF delete if 2018+) plus intake or panel filter. The turbo, intercooler and fuel system all hold within Stage 2 figures on the B58 Gen 1 — nothing else needs changing at that stage.
Remotely, to your BM3, MHD or MG Flasher account, within 24 hours of payment confirmation. You flash it over OBD yourself in around 15 minutes. Samuel personally calibrates every 340i file — no automated delivery.
Yes. The original B58 Gen 1 stock calibration is supplied before you flash, so the car can return to factory at any time.
The ZF 8HP in every F30 / F31 340i responds well to xHP calibration once torque increases — strongly recommended at Stage 2 and above, where the gearbox is handling 650 Nm and up. At Stage 1 it's optional but noticeable on shift firmness and response. Available as an add-on on this page.
